Spent September 24th observing ten art / music teachers at two New Britain middle schools, concluding with a 60′ – workshop on basic Ecological Model techniques. Four of the teachers are beginning their careers.
The director of fine arts shadowed my observations to assess teachers’ overall skills and classroom management issues.
Having consulted at both Pulaski and Slade in prior years, I was able to offer personalized feedback about their circumstances, concentrating on implementing a proactive system of interventions that complement both art and music instruction.
The workshop was received with enthusiasm and motivation to apply recommendations.
I will be returning for additional support during 2014 – 015.
