My article, ‘Student Readiness to Achieve: Decreasing the Achievement Gap,’ was just published by the Southeast Education Network on their home page. The article offers an overview of basic factors associated with national initiatives, such as Common Core, designed to address student achievement. Learning techniques and classroom management strategies are highlighted to empower educators’ skills with diverse learners. This article will influence an estimated 50,000 readers.
I present these interventions during my Ecological Model workshops for school districts and in my graduate courses at the University of St. Joseph. New teachers, in particular, are targeted for this training, especially in communities impacted by achievement gap issues.
