Dr.
Stuart Gerber is Professor Emeritus, Special Education
Department at Southern Connecticut State University,
where he prepared special educators to teach students
with serious emotional disturbance and behavior disorders
for over 30 years. He developed a Sixth Year program of
studies in Educational Collaboration and Consultation,
preparing educators to assist regular personnel with inclusion
interventions. Besides consulting in school districts
to implement his model, Dr. Gerber has presented national
workshops sponsored by the Council for Exceptional Children
(CEC) on this topic.
Dr.
Gerber has consulted with the Special Education Resource
Center (SERC) throughout Connecticut to support teachers
with early intervention programs. He also conducts workshops
on teacher training and special education issues at various
national and international conferences, while publishing
articles in professional special education journals on
collaborations techniques.
Dr.
Gerber's speciality is preparing internal, school-based
behavior management coaches to assist and monitor teachers'
implemenation of Ecological Model strategies.
