more diverse, educators are confronted by the reality
of both teaching and managing a heterogeneous group, an
increasing percentage of whom lack basic behavioral self-control.
While
academic achievement is the absolute priority of public
schools, behavioral issues are severely impacting students'
learning, especially at the middle school level. Therefore,
continued emphasis on improving achievement is being hampered
by the interference of managing students' disruptive behaviors.

management training and providing on-site professional
development activities to strengthen this crucial skill.
