SPEC 544 course

Starting teaching graduate course SPEC  544,  ‘Social Skills Interventions,’ to practicing teachers on May 16th for seven weeks in Farmington.

The course targets strategies to develop students’ social skills to bolster academic achievement. Through journal readings,  power point observations,  videotapes, and an applied presentation, students will comprehend the complex interaction between social – emotional maturation and school performance. The RTI model (‘response to intervention’) format will be utilized to integrate instructional techniques with social – learning procedures.

This is my second opportunity to present this course for St. Joseph College.
